Beliefs are your software to your programming (the way you think, act, behave, perceive reality, the world, yourself, etc) and they can either help you grow in a positive way or they can sabotage you.

We run from a program that was developed by the time we were 6yrs of age, and unless you have done any mental work you probably haven’t upgraded your software to reflect your physical growth!

Whether you were supported, loved, abandoned, secure, or grew up in an unstable environment, we all have beliefs according to our individual experiences. Even your siblings who may have grown up in the same household with the same parents will have different beliefs to you.

The good news is that your  B E L I E F S  C A N  B E  C H A N G E D!

Recognizing and becoming aware of your beliefs around various aspects of life such as career, self worth, wealth, relationships, property, finances, goals, love, and self esteem, is a step toward changing your programming to reflect who you truly are and want to be/achieve.

One way of creating a change to this system is the use of affirmations. Affirmations are statements that you say to yourself on daily basis until it becomes truth.

Now let’s take a belief that some of you may relate to I am not good enough.

Some affirmations to change this into positive self worth.

  • I approve of myself and feel great about myself
  • I am a winner and I attract only success
  • I am more than enough
  • I am successful
  • I value my self and all my efforts
  • I deserve happiness and joy
  • Outward results do not reflect my self worth or success
  • I love and forgive myself
  • I am proud of myself and all that I have accomplished.

By repeating one or some of these affirmations multiple times daily, and saying them with intention, your brain will replace these over your old ones and new beliefs will be created.

Affirmations also work well with tapping techniques (E.F.T, Kinesiology) and doing inner child work to release energy blocks and trauma in all levels of the self.

Remember your cells hear everything so be mindful of the thoughts you are constantly having and what you keep saying to yourself.

Do you like nobody else does

So you might have pigeon toed feet, or your left eye slants more than your right, you may have little quirks when you are in public and get a tad uncomfortable, or maybe you say “umm and like” too much when you talk, but who cares…we are all odd, uneven and strange.

You are awesome just the way you are, so before you go ahead and imitate someone’s method of life, how about working on your already awesome talents and skills. You’ve already got all the tools you need, you just need to remember how to use them.

Too often we get caught up in what other people are doing, their lifestyle, their happiness, their success, their physicality, and their online social media, but have you checked out how awesome your life actually is?

Whether it be you being a parent (kudos to you for bringing souls into this world and nurturing their growth in the best way you know how to), or you working damn hard at your job because you enjoy it, or you having an amazing group of friends that are your rocks throughout all of your life’s adventures, or perhaps it’s the fact that you can say “fuck it” to life and hop on a train/ plane and go where your heart desires….what you are, and what you have created your life to be is amazing (even if you’re in that shitty part right now).

Sometimes we just need a little reminder on who we are, what we have and are creating is O.K.

You don’t need to be more than who you already are. You don’t need to do more to fit in or to be accepted. You don’t need to fit into size blah to be beautiful or handsome, or need to have crystal blue eyes.

Once you accept yourself as you are and be more than OK with it, what you aspire to attain and achieve will happen naturally and organically in the right time.

People will also be attracted to your security and confidence. It’s that saying that you hear people say”I don’t know what it is but there is something about you”. THAT is who you are at the core and allow that YOU to be seen and felt, because vibes don’t lie!

Stop rushing the process, stop thinking you need to be anywhere than where you are, and stay away from any plastic surgeons or magazines that will make you feel less than and that you need some work.

Be you. Be YOUnique. Just BE and shine your light.

Are you doing what makes you happy?

Your breath is your reality check. You waking up daily is your 24hours to make something positive in your day. You just being here and creating a difference in someone’s life whether you know it or not is enough to create some happy vibes in your life.

This is a serious question to ask yourself!

Mediocrity is so last year and it’s honestly time to put those “I’m OK. I’m fine” feelings to bed!

We know that happy is an inside job, it’s a state of mind and an inner peace, but I know I’d rather be sitting on a beach watching the sunset than being stuck in traffic.

Life is not an easy journey and we didn’t just incarnate for that mediocre fairytale we have somehow been sold. We have come here to experience life, to feel emotions, to grow through our lessons and to join up with our soul mates (yes they do exist and there is not just one of them either!) and create moments.

We have also come here to have fun, to enjoy this blink of existence, to contribute our gifts to humanity and the earth, and help make this world a better place.

We have an average of about 80 years of life in us, of course this depends on where you are living and sorry to say that the male expires before the female, (check your lifespan here) and it really does go by quickly, judging by my first 30 years of life.

Life really is too short to do anything less than what makes you happy.

There will be times that you will have to eat humble pie, do things you don’t like, put up with people that test your patience (family gatherings are one of those times), swallow that bitter pill in the face of negative criticism and be nice to people that truly are just assholes, but at the end of it all it really doesn’t matter.

Just take a look at the picture in this post. It was named the happiest photo on the internet (I’m not kidding…google it!), and even the camel got involved in those happy positive vibes. That right there is happiness at it’s finest.

Have you actually asked yourself “what is it that makes me happy?”

Perhaps it’s singing in the karaoke bar with your mates dressed in 80’s gymwear; maybe it’s reading a book in the countryside all by yourself drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows; it could be a simple stroll with your loved one under the night sky; maybe it’s falling asleep in fresh bed sheets; maybe it’s closing 6 figure deals with your team at work; maybe it’s taking mixology lessons to get your espresso martini’s right; or as simple as switching off the phone on a Saturday night to chill with Netflix.

Just do it. Just do it. Just do it!

If there is anything good to come out of the brand Nike it’s that famous slogan.

Don’t wait for the death of a loved one, or a serious illness to shake you up out of your hamster wheel routine, it doesn’t need to get to that point for a reality check.

Your breath is your reality check. You waking up daily is your 24hours to make something positive in your day. You just being here and creating a difference in someone’s life whether you know it or not is enough to create some happy vibes in your life.

Don’t get bogged down by the media, do yourself a favour and avoid the news for a week, I assure you the world will still exist and you might just find something positive to talk about.

Start writing your “what makes me happy” list and start checking them off.

As the famous quote states “We are not here for a long time, we are here for a good time”.

Surround yourself with like minded people

All of a sudden you feel like you fit. All of a sudden you feel this feeling of being safe amongst a tribe. You feel supported, and that empowers you to be your true authentic self.

They say that you are the average of the 5 people you associate with most in your life, and I would have to say that has run true in my life.

Spending time with people who inspire you, motivate you, and perhaps are a little higher on the scale of where you would like to be, encourages you to lift your game and pursue your dreams.

Like minded people reaffirm your path and what you are about. They help you to learn more in the field/s of what you are interested in and also help you learn what has helped them along their way, which is usually the little set backs they have grown from.

After spending a few hours in a room filled with people I had never met before but had come together for similar interests this weekend, I realized how powerful being in that  space was.

All of a sudden you feel like you fit. All of a sudden you feel this feeling of being safe amongst a tribe. You feel supported, and that empowers you to be your true authentic self.

What a feeling!

I walked out of the event feeling “I need to do more to share my knowledge and gifts” that “I need to trust myself” more with what I do, and know that I am not alone in my way of thinking.

Your tribe is like your family, and the amazing thing about being a human being is that you can choose and have free choice in who you would like to spend your time with. You can choose to surround yourself with people that uplift you and support you in a loving way or you can choose to have those that are less inspiring. We know growth is hard for many people and change can be threatening to their comfort levels….but I know who I would rather be around 🙂

Don’t be afraid to lose some friends in your life. You are just making space for some awesomeness to come in.

Don’t be afraid to change locations, cities and workplaces. You are moving to places that are more aligned with where you want grow.

Don’t be afraid to reach out to people in your field you have never met before. They were once where you are now.

Don’t be afraid to join new groups, organizations, and communities. Like attracts like.

Your vibe attracts your tribe!

Make yourself available, put yourself out there, and don’t fear change. The right people will let you know if you are not doing enough to get where you want to go and nudge you accordingly to get you there.

One final note…don’t take advice from people who have never changed careers, pursued their dreams or faced their fears. Want to move in life? Then get with the movers and shakers of this world and a few dreamers…we all need those in our lives.

 

 

Speak your truth even if they don’t like it

Whether it’s right or wrong or we agree with it or not, it is up to us to make a decision on what feels right for us to either take on board, or leave it with all the other info that is out there.

Sometimes we have beliefs and ideas that are so ingrained in us that we don’t realize how we actually perceive things.

We now live in a time where everything is literally out our fingertips.

I was just taking a moment today admiring at how the world is because of the internet. We have data at our fingertips. If we want to find a book we can order it online or head into a bookstore ourselves. It’s all there, accessible like never before.

Perhaps there is too much information for us to get through. We are bombarded daily with media sites, subliminal advertising, news, human talk and everything we scroll through in our phones and laptops. System overload!

I don’t blame you if you have no idea what is actually real and what is fiction…I am probably half way in that thought pattern myself. Truth has been blended with “alternative facts”, reality is hidden through films and books, and journalists have lost their reputation as reputable sources.

If you believe in something say it. If you know something that another person doesn’t, talk about it. Your friends may not agree with you on 99% of the things you say (if that is the case it might be time to get new friends), but that 1% may help them, it may be a seed that gets planted that grows when the time is right.

If you are adamant on your beliefs ask yourself:
Why is that? Where did my beliefs come from? Do they serve me? Do they reflect the person I am today?

It is OK to change your beliefs, in fact it is healthy to do so. It is OK to change your mind. (I didn’t always like spicy food but now I do, the same goes for spinach). It’s OK to grow and to want to know more, it’s a part of life.

Learn, learn, and keep learning. As your mind expands with new knowledge you will find what feels right for you, you will see through the facade of false headlines, through panic and fear, and you will find truth in a world of charlatans, gossip and Chinese whispers. The heart is never wrong…follow it.

Yoga

Coming out of an ashram with 200hrs under your belt and a practice of taking a whole 2 classes in an exam setting is far from a preparation to being a teacher to your students.

Headstands after a few rounds of sun salutations? I think not! (and before you ask, no I’m not teaching this, and yes this is what my course in India taught us).

Thank god for my many years of practice and the teachings my invaluable teacher has given me, to help build the practice that I am now sharing with my students.

Yoga is more than downward dogs, handstands and the latest yoga leggings. It is a practice that helps one become centred, aware of their body and emotions, and be completely present in movement with their breath. Healing the body with the breath. It’s all about YOU becoming aware of the real you, your higher self, and all that exists.

From what I see that walks through the doors into my yoga class, people don’t need more physical stress in their lives, they need a reset button, a much needed space for “me” time. Some TLC for their mind and soul that they don’t get a chance to feel outside of their yoga mat.

I’m not going to lie, my students are a stiff bunch, but it’s really no surprise. Years of weight lifting, running, sitting down for long periods every day, physically picking up young children and holding onto emotional stress all adds up to tightness in the body. Your issues truly lie in your tissues.

With yoga being a fad right now, half the female population becoming teachers (myself included), and the media focusing on Circus De Soleil contortions, it’s important to keep note on why one would do yoga.

Powerful flows may feel great, do wonders for the ego, and those 30deg sweat boxes might feel like we are releasing toxins but really it’s more physical stress on our bodies. Give yourself a break! Don’t even get me talking about this ridiculous culture of Beer Yoga!

The benefits of yoga are in their hundreds, both physically, emotionally and mentally. The practice is a lifelong journey. No class or sequence is ever the same, and the more one does yoga, the deeper the connection with your inner self.

Patience, letting go, being present and reconnecting with your breath is all that is needed. Forget your perfect chatarungas, forget how your ass looks in your lululemon tights, and forget your need to be more than exactly where you are.

As for teaching, I’m very much enjoying it. It helps me become a better person in all aspects as one does not like to preach without practicing, but in all honesty I am as much of a student as those in my classes, and that’s probably the best part of it all.

Ascension signs & symptoms

If you are not already feeling the shift that is going on globally then perhaps you might be familiar with some of the symptoms as we go from 3D into 5D (D= dimension). Headaches, increased sensitivity to heat/cold, increase in senses, changes in diet and sleep patterns, seeing glimpses of lights/ shadows, and increase of intuitive feelings.

A Dimension is not a place or location, it is a level of consciousness that vibrates at a certain rate. Planet Earth has it’s own vibration of 7.83Hz, and this is in line with the human frequency. Hence, when we are in nature we feel very connected and peaceful; our vibrations are in alignment.

The higher us humans can raise our vibration, the more dimensions we can consciously experience and access; what we perceive as awareness of reality.

Ascension is happening EVERYWHERE.

Whether you like it or not you are changing, and it not only relates to humans, but to other planets and the entire universe.This is what 2012 signified with the end of the Mayan calendar and not the end of the world as people believed. The end of a consciousness that humanity has been at is now ascending into higher levels.

Ascension you ask?

Well nothing stays the same, it has to grow to learn and to expand and this is exactly what we are doing!

Ascension is an acceleration of vibrational energy and expansion of awareness that leads to a shift of consciousness.

Our DNA is being upgraded into higher levels of BE-ing which means we are being tuned-up and rebooted. Our old programs are beginning to fall away and we are embodying a lighter, more positive, loving and connected vibration.

Changes occur on all levels. Mentally, Physically, Spiritually, and Emotionally.

Before we get to the 5th dimension we first must go through the 4th dimension which acts like a purifying filter. Just like in the chakras the 4th is the heart, so as we go through this shift we are dealing with matters of the heart; love, relationships, doing what your heart desires, healing old emotional traumas, letting go of grief.

It may be of no surprise to you in reading that the following is happening to you or to someone you know as the upgrade occurs: quitting your job for a more fulfilling one; wanting to use the money earned into helping build communities, support projects for better sustainability; ending long term unhappy relationships; divorcing partners; taking on a more spiritual path in life after a death of loved one…

5D

This is where we are ascending to. As a collective we are moving out of a fear based, controlled and suppressed way of life and moving into a loving, peaceful, harmonious unified world working together for peace.

You can see this happening all around you. Plastics ban, unified front against corporations, use of social media to spread awareness, coming together to help in times of un/natural disasters, de-funding projects that negatively impact the planet, helping refugees, creating conscious documentaries, supporting local businesses, animal rights and the list goes on.

We are being brought together in the midst of all the madness, helping each other where we can because this is our true core nature. LOVE.

There are many signs that you are now living in the 5D but here are the 7 basic ones everyone experiences.

  1.  Daily feelings of joy, lightness, love and wonder, spacious, light, deep gratitude
  2.  Heavy negativity will release easier. Learning how to let go. Releasing lifetimes of old traumas will happen in minutes/ seconds rather years.
  3.  Increase in senses, will experience the world with greater beauty as colour spectrum will be wider
  4.  Time will feel more fluid, eternal and illusory. No ill feelings toward how things are done. Understand that you are infinite.
  5. Constant unexplained synchronistic experiences and manifestations. Daily even!
  6.  A knowing/feeling guided by something higher than your mind and imagination, greater silence, greater feeling of safety.
  7.  Ability to access multidimensional body.
    (all matter = energy + consciousness : time + space = illusion)
    Anything you can imagine you can experience, time travel, be in 3 places at once.

I’m not manifesting that fast yet, and I would certainly like to be in different places at the same time, but it’s a process and it could take me another decade or so to really feel this shift. However, the more meditation I do, the more raw vegetables my diet consists of, and the more time I spend time doing what I love, the transition into higher living will certainly happen faster.

The exciting thing that I mentioned earlier is that yes, we are coming together, we are believing that there is more to life than bills, ticking the boxes of the system, and sticking to what we know. There is a huge shift going on with people becoming more aware of their actions on this planet, becoming more conscious of future generations and what can be done, changing resources for greater sustainability, less spending on materialism, a greater oneness that we are all in this together on this beautiful planet.

Don’t take the shift too seriously! Life is a process of growing, learning and healing. We are conscious energy and we have infinity to work on ourselves and experience life as we choose.

We are not alone in this process of ascension. There are things, beings and energies I cannot explain or know about that are helping humanity through this transition.

As we rise, the negativity and heaviness departs, as it cannot survive in higher vibrations and this is why raising your frequency is so important. Remember the higher your vibration the healthier and happier you are and more aligned with WHO you are.

Perhaps those headaches you are experiencing is your consciousness expanding.
