Love + Fear

Love and Fear are the 2 basic emotions that we have. Whenever you take action, it is going to come from either one of these places. They are the Alpha and Omega of our emotional scale.

Scientists who recognize emotions from the use of different facial muscles (ie.Paul Eckman, Robert Plutchik, Charles Darwin) have gone from 7 basic human emotions (happiness, surprise, sadness, anger, disgust, fear, contempt), down to 4 (happiness, sadness, anger, fear). But no matter the faces we make, it is where our emotions originate from that is key.

Before I dive into this more, lets see what emotions really are.

  • Emotions bridge thoughts, feelings and actions
  • They are the body’s reaction to your mind
  • Control your thinking
  • Control your behaviour
  • Control your actions
  • They create chemical reactions in the body
  • Every emotion has its own vibration
  • They are internal responses to a thought

Emotions do a lot, and play a HUGE role in how we live our lives. Our emotions essentially run the quality of life we live, or deeper yet our THOUGHTS do.

It is the thoughts that we give our energy to that direct how we emotionally feel. You cannot think of truly positive, happy thoughts and be angry at the same time. The same goes for the opposite; to think about death, war, and starvation and be in a place of joy. (psychopaths may differ)

All emotions that go in between Love and Fear are just different versions of the same theme.

Happiness really is love, just look at a happy baby; no judgements just smiles.
Anger comes from a place of pain within, which either we experienced onto ourselves or from others and fear it.
Frustration is fear. Ask yourself why do you get frustrated, and then ask again on a deeper level why that bothers or affects you. It will again come from fear.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with feeling our emotions. That is what we are here to do. To experience life fully and feel as much of it as we can in our experiences, in our interactions with others, and in our various types of relationships.

Emotions are just waves of energy that allow us to feel. The more you can begin to let go of negative thoughts, past traumatic experiences, and ultimately forgive yourself and others, the more you can live freely and experience life as it comes without fear.

A great quote from the book Conversations with God (book 1) that describes how we are in relationships when it comes to love.

There is nothing to lose, but only to gain. If you lose something then it was no longer needed in your life, and it’s making way for the new.

There is nothing to fear, only to love. When you are i a state of fear, you are unwell, you weaken your immune system, you make irrational and reactive decisions. When you love you move forward in life and are strengthened, empowered, as love is your true essence, your natural state, and things happen from the heart.

What have you overcome that you once feared?

FEAR is the energy which contracts, closes down, draws in, runs, hides, hoards and harms.
LOVE is the energy which expands, opens up, sends out, stays, reveals, shares and heals.

You always have a choice of what emotion you want to feel and experience. Remember it all starts with a thought.
